Bliss Wind Soloists

Julian is thrilled to announce his new chamber group: the Bliss Wind Soloists. For their first concert, the ensemble will be playing Beethoven, Krommer and Mozart at the Chipping Campden Music Festival on Thursday 14th May 2020.

‘Ever since I was a kid, I've loved playing chamber music. The chance to work with other amazing musicians and play some of the greatest music is always an exciting prospect. There are many good trios and quartets, but there’s also a whole host of music for larger forces, such as octets, nonets and ensembles even up to thirteen musicians. This is an area that I was keen to explore and so I decided to start my own chamber ensemble, Bliss Wind Soloists. Over the years I have had the pleasure of working and meeting some phenomenal musicians and I'm really looking forward to collaborating with some of the UK’s finest chamber musicians. Our first few concerts will focus on the great but very challenging arrangements of Beethoven’s Symphonies 7 and 8. Alongside the Beethoven there is a Partita by one of Beethoven’s younger contemporaries, Franz Krommer and the Serenade Number 11 by Mozart.’ - Julian Bliss
